Art, is what kept me sane.

It replaced the friends, I never made along the way.

While all else fell apart, it was the only place that provided the illusion of safety.

The first painting I ever actually saw, was by Francis Bacon.

I remember how irritated and in awe I was before his Seated Figure.

For the first time in my life, a painting meant something to me, and yet, I had no idea what it meant to me.

But I knew, that I wanted to create something just as mysterious, unsettling and yet so inspiring and moving like that.
